Clinic

Dr. Schnabel is a board certified equine orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine and rehabilitation specialist.

She cares for horses through all stages of their stay at the NCSU Equine & Farm Animal Veterinary Center, from initial work-up and diagnosis through to treatment and after care.

Dr. Schnabel is dedicated to delivering the best care possible, through minimally invasive surgeries, as well as treatment with stem cells and other regenerative therapies. Her passion for research is driven by this dedication, and all of her research projects have the goal of continuously advancing her clinical care.

In addition to her equine patients, Dr. Schnabel is committed to the training and mentoring of NCSU equine residents and interns. She is an ACVS (American College of Veterinary Surgery) advisor and is the ACVSMR (American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation) Program Director for NCSU.

NCSU is one of the few veterinary colleges in the United States to offer an equine sports medicine and rehabilitation residency program, and Dr. Schnabel has led the effort to build the strongest program possible.

NCSU is proud to announce that our equine aqua treadmill and salt water spa are fully installed as of March 2018 and we are now accepting patients on the Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Service to use this equipment!
